Hello True Art Believers!
Wow it has been such a long time since I blogged. Lets just say I have a bad system of getting things done and I have been working hard to correct that.
Many Reason accounted for my absence in blogging, part of it had to do with Blogger removed the app so I was no longer able to mess around with my blogs via my Iphone, another part was it became a habit that I was not able to manage. Honestly, I am unsure whether I will be able to manage it now, but I am more determined and I have a better system involved productivity wise that will get me on the right track.
Coming up in the near future I will be having an art exhibit at the Schmidt Art Center
and I have been working ferociously to get work on my major pieces.
This blog should help serve as a casual documentation of that process. I also intend to show some the side works I do in my free time. I have, as of lately, been casually pursuing watercolors. Many reason for this, one being that my paintings have been consuming so much of my free time and they have been taking much longer than I had anticipated (I lost count of the hours after a couple months of working on one piece), it is because of this I have been dabbling around with watercolors.
I have not expectation for them to be any good, but I do enjoy the process and it is a plus that some turn out "okay. You can view and purchase prints of these watercolors at www.mattpiersonart.com
Below are examples of pieces I have been working on tirelessly for basically Forever. So much more to do, but the end is in sight for the cherry piece.
This piece I have loads more work to do before it is finished, I have only just begun the first skintone layers and the background is about a quarter done.
In the evenings I have been spending around 30 to 50 minutes dabbling around with watercolors, below are some examples what I have been creating. It is nice doing this because I actually see results, my paintings have been so slow to progress that it often is hard to see an actual completion date. These act as an escape from my deep work involved with my paintings.
That is it for this blog post.
