Getting elaborate with circles

Hello True Art Believers,

This week I have been devoting to painting circles.  Now I know in the abstract that sounds simple, easy peasy,  but painting good clean circles is incredibly difficult and time consuming.  Due to the nature of oil paints, circles are a challenge.  Oil paints are generally not very viscous and in order to make them more viscous you have to use medium to dilute the paint.  In turn the paint becomes thinned out, thus it glides smoother on the paint surface.  Some problems that do arise from this is the paint becomes more transparent.  Which I do not want for my work, so oftentimes I have to apply multiple layers of paint to make areas more opaque.

In order to mitigate this I have been using Liquin Impasto Medium.   Liquin Mediums

Which seems to maintain more of the paints capacity to be applied flat without affecting its transparency.  It doesn't solve the problem but it certainly makes it more manageable.

Below are a few progress photos, take notice of the transition from grey squares to yellow squares.  Also I am playing around with form and color with regard to the overlapping of cherries.
Thank you very much for your time and support.

-Matt
