Week 5 In Pierson Land

Hello Art Believers!!!

This week was certainly productive in the sense that I finished two paintings.  By finished I mean I just decided to stop painting on them.  It was getting to the point that when worked more in the pieces my yields for improvement became reduced dramatically, so I made the decision to call it a wrap.

Certain events prevented me from being in the studio for part of the week but as always I have finished my seven self portraits and seven digital drawings. I hope to begin 5 new paintings next week and get some old ones rolling towards a finish. Thank you for viewing my blog. Enjoy this weeks art work.

I am very pleased with how these pieces turned out. They have just the right amount of representational work juxtaposed with ice cream cones that were made from imagination.

I didn't have much time to work on my Abe Lincoln, I hope to make some progress at the beginning of next week.

these sketchbooks are nearing completion I just got to do a page to page check to see if I didn't skip any blank pages. Then I got to do a few compositing checks page wise, and lino-print the covers, then I am ready to go.  I have to do my quality check before I can deem my sketchbook complete

When I give demonstrations in my drawing class I often draw multiple times in the same sheet of paper.  I dislike wasting paper so this is my way of utilizing my paper better.  I enjoy the way the layers upon layers of redrawn still life sketches creates these unique abstract qualities.

February is going to be a change of pace for my selfportaits. I am doing blind contours this month for a more abstract quality.

The first week of February I drew the Pokemon Ivysaur. I am going to keep  drawing Pokémon for awhile, theres no end to them. Theres like a thousand of them now right?

Hope you enjoyed my work for the week. Keep an eye out for more work next week. Enjoy the Sunday and have fun watching the Superbowl.
