This week has been crazy. I started teaching for the spring 2017 semester, which has kind of thrown off my schedule. I have gotten better at restarting my art regiment after a wrench has been thrown into the whole engine. I'll often stumble around trying to play catch up. This week I was able to complete 7 self portraits and 7 digital drawings. I also got some painting done, gessoed a few wood panels and I worked on composition studies for my next painting.
My digital drawings have improved slightly. I am a limited my the fact that I'm drawing on a mediocre tablet, so my accuracy is always off. Its funny because my stylus always drawings slightly off from where the tip of my drawing tool is actually at. I intend to research tutorials and employ them after this month. This month is me just playing with the program and getting acquainted with drawing digitally.
My self-portraits I believe have improved significantly, my proportions are better and I've increased the subtleties in my values. Now I need to improve my drawing speed so that I van get more done in 30 minutes.
These are a couple of paintings I am currently working on. The ice cream cones are so close I can taste it. The picture that shows two wood panels is something I'm going to start up soon, I need to sand the panels lightly and then clean the surface with ammonia to get any impurities off. This will allow for better adhesion with my paint.
