Week 8 in Pierson Land

Hello Art Believers!!!!

5 new paintings, 2 Prince drawings, 7 self-portraits, and 7 Charmeleons later.  That is my week in a nutshell.  To be honest been a little lazy. As an example I am choosing to binge watch "Jane The Virgin." right now. 😚😁😘😄😖😋😘. Sorry about that just found out my keyboard has emoji's.  I got some work going in the  Saint Charles Community College faculty show. It kind of sucks that I don't have a large amount of work.  I have probably a couple hundred hours worth of sketchbook work but I can't really sell them.  Maybe should I make books out of them.  Next week is going to be a very uneventful week.  I will be hanging my work for the faculty show and going out of town so its going to be sad.😢  Anyways, enjoy this weeks art progress.

Week 7 in Pierson Land

Hello Art Believers!!!!

I know I always say this but this week was productive. The reason I say this is because I have set it up, schedule-wise to force myself to work, of course, I am always happy to get more done than usual. Hey, I'll take what I can get right?  I was able to complete my standard 7 self-portraits (blind contours), 7 digital drawings, my Abraham Lincoln drawing,  begin another Prince drawing, and start two gummy bear paintings.

I can't wait until the end of the month when I stop doing blind contour.  I enjoy doing them, but I really don't really see much improvement from one to the other. They are just interesting images through line quality.  I guess If I were to really focus I could improve in blind contours, but it would almost defeat the purpose of a blind contour.  The purpose is not to really capture at likeness, but to learn to see contour lines, and to really understand those lines you are drawing.

My digital drawings are coming along.  I find that I am improving, but I am seeing a speed bump occurring.  In order to improve I may need to invest more time into my digital work.  At the very least I need to research and watch more digital drawing videos.  Not the speed drawings everyone likes, those don't tell me what is going on and just show off the virtuoso of the artist.

I am pleased that I was able to Finish my third Abraham Lincoln.  Since one is already owned by a good friend of mine, I have to make 2 more for my presidential series I have been trying to get off the ground.  I am excited because I like seeing how each portrait is similar but different in their own respect.  I am not trying to exact copies each time.  But I do want each of the drawings of the same photo to be similar enough,  but still be there own work aside from each-other.  If that makes any sense.

I have started my third Prince drawing.  I do these pop culture pieces for purposes for more practical purposes. *LOL*  To put food in my belly *LOL*  People like them so I draw them.  It doesn't hurt they pay for my groceries from time to time.  I keep doing the same profile image because I feel that I am really beginning to understand that image. Each time I get better and better at drawing it.

I began two new paintings and hope to begin three more by the end of next week.  Thus fulfilling my goal for the month at beginning five new paintings for the month.  I am not going to lie,  these are shoddy excuses for under paintings. I was working on them and I realized I was running low paint thinner, so I got some more.  By then, it was late and I wanted to go to bed.  Can you blame me?

That is it for this weeks work-load.  Glad you stopped by, Thank You.

Week 6 in Pierson Land

Hello Art Believers!!!

As everyone knows life can complicate things, making artwork is not immune to such complications.  that being said I've set up some lofty goals for each day and month as a whole.  It is those goals, that if I am even remotely off with my schedule or if I want a break, I get behind my schedule.  This week I was just tired all week, my energy levels were down. My workouts have been incredibly short but intense, with me increasing my weigh on each lifts by five pounds each so because of that I believe my energy levels have been down.

I also do group training classes, of which I tend to participate in each of the workouts. So I am often doing 3 workouts every other day so it is no wonder I am tired.

For this week I am posting blind contour self portraits and digital drawings of Venusaur, a character from Pokemon.  I really have to admit my digital drawings really feel like they improve weekly.  I can't say I'm not surprised. Since I have drawn around 40 of them.  please enjoy my work.
