Incomplete portrait

A self portrait I started and was unable to complete. I had to attend a wedding, so I stopped and never finished it. Which leads me to the question, when do you stop on a drawing? I try to explain to my students that they need to know how to set up their image so that they can stop working in the drawing at a moments notice. This drawing works because of that premise.
