Hello Art Believers!!!
I apologize for delaying my weekly blog. I am terrible at maintaining a high level of organization. Things like sleeping in, waking up 30 minutes late, eating can really mess me up. I always complain about it, but organization is a major source of concern. Another thing that puts a damper on my productivity is emails. What a monumental time suck emails can be. I have so many old emails that I need to read or digitally file. I got to audit old emails that aren't relevant. I keep most emails pertaining to art ventures for tax purposes, etc.
That being said this week brings self portraits and a new Pokemon creature. In some regards there has been slow improvements. The main issue I have recurring is maintaining the same head position while doing a 3/4th Self-portrait. Usually by the 15 minute mark I have established a general head position that I have kind of sunk into. Unfortunately by this time I have already established my pen drawing. So for the remaining time I am adjusting my drawing to what I am actually seeing in reality. Not too mention when doing a self portrait it is always hard to draw yourself how you are and not how you perceive yourself. You ever see those self portraits of people who give themselves strong jaw lines and piercing eyes? You want to avoid that at all cost. To that extent I think I have succeeded.
In regards to my digital drawings There has been improvement, in the fact that I have learned more about the software. Lately I have been watching a ton of "how to" videos for digital drawing. I am less concerned with what they are drawing and more concerned with how they are drawing. My next step is to find out what kind of special pencil tools they have created for light sketching because I have seen how they are making there lines and I want to know what settings they are using to get their lines. Specifically the sketch lines, because they appear more like pencil lines than the pencil tool that come standard. Which is more like a pen that doesn't bleed. Anyways please enjoy this weeks installment of Pierson-Land. Thank you.
