This one was a struggle, I was feeling rushed because Sean really needed to be out in three hours, it was actually from 1-3 pm which was really only two hours so I was extra pressured. Painting like this is kind of a struggle because Im trying to keep the likeness and establish planes of the face with one stroke of the brush. Often with multiple unmixed paints on one brush.

Sunday Portraits rd. 4
This portrait was excruciating. I was ridiculously sick. After every twenty minute pose I was rushing to the bathroom to say hello to the toilet bowl. With my face. It actually turned out pretty good given the circumstances.

sunday portraits
I just got done with a new portrait. Learned a much about underpainting, but the painting kind of failed in the addition of color. I tend to lose the portrait and it becomes all about the paint after that. Need to fix that.

portrait sundays
Aside from my own work I have been offering to do free portraits, all the person has to do is bring their own canvas for me to paint on and the willingness to sit for 3 hours. It is a way for me to improve and for people to have a piece of art for relatively cheap. heres last sundays

Sketchpad Project(s) medium: mixed 2011
I spent all day editing images for my website. Barely got any of it done. I had so much to edit, I got about two sketchpads to edit and resize and then upload onto my website. In a perfect world I'd like to have my sketchpads on my website to show my versatility. My work and my sketchpads are two separate entities related only in theme and ideas. Plus they tend to be more illustrative. I am also considering submitting to a publication. It's always good to be published? I don't know the function of this blog, perhaps I never will.

No Title, text on computer, 2011
It has come to my attention that to be an artist in today's society. You have to be more than an artist, you have to be a businessmen, a public speaker, a party person of the night, and almost everythin all at once. But what does it all mean. I don't know, to be honest I think that keeping a blog is waste of my time, but It might be a necessary time consumer to reach out to the inter webs. Plus it's not so bad on consuming my time when I'm doing nothing on my bed while typing on my phone. I really have no direstion with this blog. Other than to simply barf up random thoughts on what I am doing. It might help with my writing. Which is far from desirable. I'm currently working on a series which is at a halt currently, I have been busy and life got into they. Which halted my studio time, but I plan to put in ten hours this weekend. This work will hopefully prOve to be quite fruitful because it involves weightlifting and repetition. Which are themes and ideas I've been messing around with for years. My work with Timothy Wagner is starting to show some improvement, I give credIt to the fact that it is because he is my roommate and now we can slow down our process. I'll ponder other things later
